This set of two
adorable sterling silver plated hairclips capture the splendor
of the glorious parachute drop. First exhibited at the World's
Fair in 1940 and brought to Coney Island in 1941, this relic
of profound nostalgia still stands in Coney Island. One cannot
glance at the parachute drop without longing to see the beautiful
rainbow parachutes riders rising and falling in terrified excitement.
In recent years the boardwalk has been abuzz with rumors that
the parachute drop may become active again. The lovely retro
image in these sassy hairclips will be a ever present reminder
of the dreams of one of the most spectacular and historic rides
ever to grace Coney Island's sparkling shore!!
